Description
Scottish Transport No. 66 is a publication of the Scottish Tramway Museum Society. This issue opens with Back to the Future and Trams Return to the Capital reflecting on the return of trams to Edinburgh and Child of War offers another personal story on how wartime affected transport operations and lives of those living in Scotland. The Stronachie Distillery Tramway uncovers a tale of the tramway that once served a Scottish distillery and Musselburgh Trams revisits this town’s proud tramway heritage, while The Deeside Line explores the railway that wound its way through Aberdeenshire. Millennium Might Have Been explores the transport proposals that never came to fruition and Great Scottish Inventor Robert Wm. Thomson pays tribute to the remarkable engineer whose work laid the foundations for modern transport. The edition closes with Liner Off-Piste, a piece moving from tramway and railway territory into the world of the great ocean liners.
